TAO Staking Goes Custody-Native for Institutions with Colossus Hub

TAO Staking Goes Custody-Native for Institutions with Colossus Hub
Read Time:1 Minute, 45 Second

For institutions holding $TAO inside qualified custody, earning yield on those positions has historically meant choosing between security and participation. Most custody platforms simply did not support staking workflows for $TAO, leaving large allocations to sit idle while smaller, more nimble holders captured the network’s emissions.

That gap has now closed with Colossus Hub gone live with a direct integration that lets institutional $TAO holders stake to Yuma’s validator without ever moving assets out of custody, with full support for Fireblocks, Ledger Enterprise, and DFNS.

How It Works

The team at Colossus Digital walked through the full flow on a recent demo, completing a $TAO delegation in under two minutes.

The process is built specifically for institutional security standards while keeping the user experience straightforward:

a. Select the Asset: From Colossus Hub’s asset page, choose $TAO from the list of supported assets,

b. Choose the Transaction Type: Select Delegate, then pick Yuma AI as the validator and the wallet you want to use,

c. Initiate the Request: Enter the amount to stake and use the Initiate API key, which carries the lowest privilege level possible and only permits initiating a transaction,

d. Review and Sign: A notification arrives on the connected device, where you verify the clear data and confirm the transaction hash matches the one displayed on the Fireblocks dashboard, and

e. Approve and Broadcast: Sign through the standard custody procedure, monitor the pending status in the transaction history, and confirm the broadcast.

Once the transaction completes, the staked balance appears against Yuma’s validator and is verifiable directly through Taostats explorer.

Conclusion

For any institution sitting on $TAO inside Fireblocks, Ledger Enterprise, or DFNS, the choice is no longer between custody and yield. Colossus Hub closes that gap with a workflow that respects institutional security standards while delivering native staking access in under two minutes.

The infrastructure layer that decentralized AI needs to attract serious institutional capital is finally arriving, and this is one of the cleaner pieces of it now in production.
