Carbon is building an infrastructure for competitive discovery and independent evaluation of machine learning models that approximate complex engineering simulations ('fast physics models'). The platform enables researchers and AI agents to develop and submit model-building methods, which are then independently reconstructed and tested against reference physics to ensure reliability for specific engineering tasks. Carbon integrates with Bittensor to incentivize research participation, aiming to accelerate engineering design by providing trustworthy, evidence-backed fast models for applications such as battery charging, cooling systems, electric motors, and silicon photonics. The commercial model focuses on evidence audits and sponsored discovery for engineering teams, supporting integration with existing simulation workflows.
