Hippius (SN75)’s Global Content Delivery Is Live With Pay-As-You-Go Pricing Schedule

Hippius just launched an S3-compatible CDN with global edge delivery, pay-as-you-go pricing from $0.01/GB, custom domains, and spending caps for developers and businesses.

Hippius (SN75)’s Global Content Delivery Is Live With Pay-As-You-Go Pricing Schedule

Hippius (SN75) has launched its Content Delivery Network (CDN), allowing developers and businesses to deliver websites, images, videos, and downloadable files faster to users across different locations.

How CDN Works

The service works directly with Hippius’ existing S3-compatible storage, removing the need to integrate a separate CDN provider.

The launch introduces usage-based pricing starting at $0.01 per GB, with customizable spending limits to help users manage delivery costs.

Hippius (SN75) is a decentralized cloud infrastructure platform built to offer storage, confidential computing, and other cloud services.

How Hippius CDN Works

A CDN reduces loading times by keeping copies of frequently accessed files at servers closer to users. Visitors can access cached content from nearby servers, reducing loading times and the number of requests sent to the original storage location.

How Hippius CDN Works In the Backend

Hippius CDN initially operates through edge locations in France and Australia, automatically directing visitors to the closest location. Files remain in their original Hippius S3-compatible buckets, while the CDN handles distribution through HTTPS.

Developers can use the service to host static websites, deliver application assets, distribute images and videos, or provide downloadable files. It also supports custom domains, configurable caching rules, and cache purging when files are updated.

Pricing and Spending Controls

Hippius CDN follows a pay-as-you-go model without subscription tiers or minimum commitments. Users pay according to the amount of data delivered, the number of requests processed, and whether they use a custom domain.

Hippius CDN Rate Card

For example, delivering 100 GB of data outside Oceania across one million requests would cost approximately $1.20, excluding any custom domain charge.

Each CDN zone also supports a monthly spending cap. Users receive notifications as they approach their limits, and delivery automatically pauses once the cap is reached, helping prevent unexpected charges.

Setup and Availability

Users can activate the CDN directly from the Hippius console by selecting an existing storage bucket or folder, creating a CDN zone, and setting a spending limit. They can also connect a custom domain through DNS configuration, with HTTPS handled by Hippius.

Setting Up CDN on Hippius Console

One important consideration is that files within a selected CDN bucket or folder become publicly accessible. Users are therefore encouraged to choose dedicated folders for public content instead of exposing storage locations containing private files.

Establishing a Spending Cap on Hippius’ CDN

Hippius CDN is now available on SN75, expanding the subnet’s cloud infrastructure offerings beyond storage and computing into content delivery. The service gives developers another way to host and distribute applications through its decentralized platform.
