Bitcast (SN93) opened the first entry in an ongoing series introducing the team behind the creator marketing subnet, starting with Will Blears, its co-founder and CTO. The story is a specific version of a pattern the Bittensor ecosystem produces often: a technical operator arrives through a chance encounter, mines across the network for months to understand it, then builds something new inside it.

In this case, a computer science graduate with a background in aerospace weapons systems and low-latency trading platforms is the operator, and creator marketing is the industry being reshaped. The path from a chance meeting in South America to leading Bitcast’s technical development is the story the team is publishing this week.
The Path Into Bittensor
The introduction begins with a technical resume that pointed nowhere near crypto until a chance meeting redirected it.

1. The technical background. Computer science graduate with career development in aerospace weapons systems, then low-latency trading platforms.
2. Early 2024, digital nomad through South America. Met the founder of Lium (SN51) in person, who introduced him to $TAO and Bittensor.
3. A LinkedIn message changed the trajectory. The founder of Tensora and TAO.com contacted him unexpectedly, and he joined Tensora as its first employee.
4. Mined across more than ten Bittensor subnets. Left Tensora to become a solo miner while exploring how the incentive model could apply beyond crypto.
The mining phase is the load-bearing part of the story. Direct participation across ten-plus subnets surfaced the specific opportunity Bitcast was built to attack.
Why Creator Marketing Was the Opportunity
The founding thesis was that creator marketing already worked as a business, and Bittensor’s incentive mechanisms could rebuild it as something faster, more scalable, and more performance-driven.
1. The industry is large. Creator marketing is a well-established category with real budgets and known unit economics.
2. The founding brief rejected the agency path. The goal was not to build another agency but to use Bittensor to rethink how creator marketing works from the ground up.
3. The product live today is Stitch3. Bitcast’s ecosystem-native distribution platform helping brands reach creators and influential voices across Bittensor, prediction markets, Hyperliquid, and adjacent ecosystems.
4. The technical focus is agentic software. Current work is on how increasingly autonomous systems can accelerate how Bitcast’s products are built and operated.
What This Story Says About Bittensor
The path from aerospace systems to Bitcast is a specific version of a pattern the ecosystem keeps producing. Unexpected introductions, open participation as a miner, and the transition from operator to builder are all recognisable features of how serious teams enter the network.
Bitcast is one of the cleaner examples of what that looks like when the operator brings deep technical experience from outside crypto and applies it to an industry Bittensor’s incentive model can genuinely improve. More profiles in the Bitcast team series will follow in the coming weeks.
