The Products Already Running on Bittensor

TAO Templar highlights some of Bittensor’s top subnets and the real products they are already building across compute, AI inference, storage, robotics and research.

The Products Already Running on Bittensor

One of the first questions people ask when they discover Bittensor is simple. What does the network actually do?

TAO Templar recently answered that by pointing to some of the highest-ranking subnets and the products they are already building.

What Bittensor does

His argument was that Bittensor is easier to understand when you stop looking at it only as a cryptocurrency and start looking at the businesses operating on top of it.

Lium (SN51), for example, provides GPU rentals and continues expanding the amount of hardware available through its marketplace. Chutes (SN64) focuses on AI inference and serverless compute, while Targon (SN4) offers compute environments designed to keep workloads private even from the infrastructure provider.

Other subnets are tackling completely different problems. Score works on computer vision, Hippius (SN75) provides cloud storage, while IOTA and Teutonic focus on distributed AI training. REAX (SN92) is developing decision models, and Metanova applies Bittensor’s mining competition to drug research.

There are also more unusual examples. Green Compute turns energy from farm waste into power for computing infrastructure, while robotics subnets are using the network to improve systems that interact with the physical world.

For Tao Templar, that variety is the important part. Bittensor is not one AI product. It is a network where independent teams compete to produce different forms of useful intelligence and infrastructure.

He also pointed to buybacks and token burns as one way some subnets are connecting their commercial activity back to the wider Bittensor economy. Lium, Chutes and Targon were among the examples he highlighted, with subnet teams using capital to buy or burn their alpha tokens.

That does not mean every subnet has reached the same level of adoption or revenue. But it does make the broader picture clearer.

Bittensor already includes businesses working on GPU rentals, AI inference, private compute, storage, computer vision, robotics, model training, scientific research and more.

For newcomers asking what Bittensor is actually doing, there is more than enough proof of world-class projects already running on the network.
