HTX Adds TAO to Its Spot Board as Bittensor Rallies Toward $260

TAO climbed from the low $190s to an intraday high near $261 in the days before HTX confirmed its listing.

Deposits opened at 10:30 UTC on August 27, with spot trading following at 13:00 UTC the same day.

Withdrawals are set to open at 13:00 UTC on August 28, completing the standard listing rollout.

This listing gives TAO another major centralized exchange venue as the decentralized AI sector draws fresh attention.

What Kind of Exchange Is HTX?

HTX, formerly known as Huobi, has operated since 2013 and rebranded in 2023, and its 59 million-plus registered users now place it among the world’s ten largest exchanges by volume.

The platform lists over 1,000 tokens and runs spot, futures with leverage up to 200x, staking, grid bots, and copy trading side by side, with a minimum deposit of just 1 USDT that keeps the barrier to entry low.

Its user base skews heavily toward Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam and Malaysia, alongside Latin America through the Bitex acquisition covering Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, plus growing footholds in the Middle East, Pakistan, and Australia.

That regional mix, combined with beginner-friendly automation tools, means TAO is now reaching a large pool of newer, less experienced traders across emerging markets who may be encountering Bittensor for the first time.

How the Rollout Unfolded

  • Deposits opened at 10:30 UTC on August 27, per HTX’s official listing notice.
  • Spot trading for the TAO/USDT pair went live at 13:00 UTC once deposit volume met market demand.
  • Withdrawals open at 13:00 UTC on August 28, closing out the three-stage sequence.

The staggered rollout mirrors HTX’s usual pattern for all new listings.

Where TAO Stood Going In

  • TAO rallied from the low $190s toward the $250 area in the days leading up to the announcement.
  • The token hit an intraday high near $261 on August 27, the same day HTX confirmed the listing.

TAO wasn’t a new asset to centralized markets going into this listing, it was already trading in almost every top exchanges.
