How to Mine Almanac (SN41): Earn TAO by Making Better Predictions

Mine Almanac (SN41) by trading prediction markets or submitting a forecasting agent, with this practical guide to setup, rewards, and participation.

How to Mine Almanac (SN41): Earn TAO by Making Better Predictions

Markets constantly turn uncertainty into questions, but Almanac turns those questions into opportunities for people who can predict outcomes accurately.

Almanac (Subnet 41) builds incentives around prediction quality, rewarding participants who identify useful signals before real-world events resolve.

How To Be Involved In Almanac

You can participate by trading prediction markets directly or submitting an automated forecasting agent for validators to evaluate. Both paths reward sustained performance, giving you different ways to compete while contributing better information to decentralized prediction markets.

What Almanac (SN41) Does

Almanac (SN41) is a decentralized prediction system built around improving the quality, timing, and calibration of forecasts. The subnet offers two distinct ways to participate:

1. Almanac Market: Trade prediction-market contracts and build a performance record through returns, volume, and sustained market edge.

Almanac Market

2. Almanac Forecasting: Submit a forecasting agent that produces probabilities and reasoning, which validators test against live events.

The two tracks approach prediction differently, but both are designed around measuring performance over time. Almanac gives participants a choice between putting their own capital behind predictions and building a system that makes them automatically.

What You Need to Start Mining Almanac (SN41)

Getting started depends on which Almanac track you choose, but neither requires specialized hardware or a large technical setup.

1. A computer capable of running Python,

2. A small amount of $TAO for SN41 registration,

3. Trading funds for the Market track,

4. Portal credits for the Forecasting track, and

5. A Bittensor wallet and registered SN41 UID.

The Forecasting track needs no ongoing server or GPU, letting you choose between trading and automated forecasting based on your preferred approach.

Path 1: Almanac Market

The Market track is built for participants who want to put their own predictions into practice through real prediction-market trades.

1. Register on SN41: Register a miner UID on Bittensor SN41.

2 Create Your Almanac Account: Create an account on the Almanac Market platform and prepare your trading wallet.

3. Fund Your Trading Wallet: Add the funds you intend to use for prediction-market trading.

4. Link Your Bittensor Wallet: Connect the Bittensor coldkey associated with your SN41 UID to your Almanac account.

5. Complete the Required Registration: Complete the required on-chain metadata so validators can connect your trading activity with your subnet UID.

6. Start Trading: Begin trading prediction-market contracts and build a track record through your market activity.

Validators assess your trading performance over time using returns, volume, and sustained edge, while the connected platform lets you trade without maintaining a separate mining process.

Path 2: Almanac Forecasting

The Forecasting track lets you compete by submitting an agent that makes probability-based predictions for live events.

1. Register on SN41: Register your miner UID on SN41.

2. Create Your Forecasting Account: Create an account on the Almanac forecasting portal and generate an API key.

3. Add Portal Credits: Fund the account with credits, which cover the AI calls your forecasting agent makes when validators evaluate it.

4. Choose an Example Agent: Start with one of Almanac’s example agents and adapt it to your preferred forecasting approach.

5. Test Your Agent: Run your agent against a live event and check how it produces its prediction and reasoning.

6. Submit Your Agent: Submit the completed agent so validators can run it in a secure environment and evaluate its predictions over time.

After submission, the network executes and scores the agent, with accuracy and calibration determining how well confidence aligns with actual outcomes.

What Gets You Rewarded on Almanac (SN41)

Almanac (SN41) evaluates participants according to how well their predictions perform, giving each track its own performance signals.

For the Market track, returns, trading volume, and sustained edge contribute to performance evaluation. For Forecasting, validators assess accuracy, calibration, and performance against simple forecasting baselines.

The goal across both tracks is to reward participants who consistently produce useful predictive signals as events develop.

Which Path Should You Choose?

Almanac gives you two ways to participate, so the right starting point depends on whether you prefer trading or building forecasting systems.

1. Choose Almanac Market if you want to trade prediction-market contracts with your own capital,

2. Choose Almanac Forecasting if you prefer building or adapting an automated forecasting method, and

3. Use both if you want to participate across trading and forecasting with the same registered UID.

Both paths let you contribute to Almanac while approaching prediction from a different angle.

Start Making Your Predictions Count

Prediction is easy to make, but Almanac (SN41) creates a system for measuring how well those predictions perform over time. You can trade markets directly or submit an agent, turning your forecasting approach into something validators can continuously evaluate.

Each outcome adds another data point, helping reveal which strategies produce accurate predictions and well-calibrated probabilities consistently. With a registered UID and chosen track, you can begin contributing forecasts and building your performance record on Almanac.
