Beam (SN105) Transfers 1 TB in 2 Minutes 42 Seconds, With More Integrity Checks

Beam reports a new data-transfer benchmark, moving 1 TB in 2 minutes 42 seconds while improving speed by 20% and increasing security and integrity checks by 2.5 times.

Beam (SN105) Transfers 1 TB in 2 Minutes 42 Seconds, With More Integrity Checks

Moving large datasets can be a bottleneck for AI systems and cloud infrastructure, where speed is important, but data integrity cannot be compromised.

Beam (SN105) is working to address this challenge through decentralized data transfer. In its latest benchmark, the network reports transferring 1 TB in 2 minutes and 42 seconds, while delivering a 20% speed improvement and performing 2.5 times more security and integrity checks than the previous month.

Faster Transfers, More Checks

Beam’s latest result highlights two improvements:

1) Transfer speed: Beam reports a 20% improvement, with 1 TB completed in 2 minutes and 42 seconds.

2) Data integrity and security: The network says it performed 2.5 times more checks compared with the previous month.

These gains are notable because speed alone does not make a data-transfer system dependable. Data also needs to arrive intact, and the network must be able to verify the transfer.

How Beam Moves Data

Beam is a decentralized data-transfer network built on Bittensor. It coordinates bandwidth and transfer work across independent network participants.

Its approach includes:

1) Chunking data: Transfers are divided into smaller pieces that can be routed across workers.

2) Competing workers: Independent workers handle transfer tasks, with their performance measured for reward allocation.

3) Integrity verification: Beam uses checks such as Merkle proofs and multi-layer validation to help verify that transferred data remains intact.

4) Proof of Bandwidth: The network measures and verifies transfer performance as part of its incentive system.

Beam also supports integrations with cloud storage services such as AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Google Cloud, and Hugging Face.

Building on Previous Benchmarks

Beam’s latest result follows an earlier milestone in which the network reported transferring 1 TB in approximately 3 minutes and 40 seconds.

The new result points to continued progress in transfer performance. While the figures are reported by Beam itself, they offer a measurable update on the network’s effort to coordinate decentralized bandwidth and move large datasets with verifiable integrity.
