Hippius (SN75) has launched a Chrome extension that lets users record their screens and take screenshots, then share them through a link without exposing their content to anyone.
The extension is available on the Chrome Web Store, making it easier to capture and share content directly from the browser.
What You Can Do With It
The Hippius extension lets users:
1) Record or capture: Record a browser tab, window, selected area, or full screen, or take a screenshot with one click.
2) Share with a link: Send a shareable link that recipients can open in their browser without creating a Hippius account.
3) Store captures automatically: Recordings and screenshots go straight to your Hippius Drive, where they can also be accessed through the web console and desktop app.
How to Get Started
1) Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.

2) Connect your Hippius account: You only need to do this once, and you can start with a free account.

3) Choose what to capture: Record a tab, window, selected area, or full screen, or take a screenshot. Hippius encrypts each capture in your browser before uploading it, meaning Hippius cannot view the content.

4) Share your capture: Copy the generated link and send it to anyone who needs to view it. They do not need a Hippius account (Users can also disable shared links later through the console).

5) Manage access: View, copy, and revoke your active share links. The free plan comes with limits, including recordings of up to five minutes, a maximum of 25 recordings, and a small watermark (Paid plans remove these restrictions).

Private by Default
The extension adds another way to use Hippius. For users who regularly record demonstrations, document workflows, or share what they see on screen, Hippius now offers a simple way to do it while keeping their captures encrypted.
