In a significant update for the Bittensor ecosystem, the Savant AI assistant on TAO.app has integrated real-time GitHub activity tracking for open-source subnets, enabling users to monitor developer progress and network developments more efficiently.

This enhancement, announced by Joseph Jacks, founder of OSS Capital and a key advocate for open-source AI, also boasts inference speeds improved by over 5x compared to previous versions.

The update allows Savant to provide rapid responses to queries on Bittensor’s network metrics, trading anomalies, and commit histories, as demonstrated in the video shared by Jacks. This builds on Savant’s initial launch in May 2025 as the first AI assistant fine-tuned specifically for Bittensor, offering detailed insights into the network’s 128 subnets.

Community reactions have been positive, with users noting increased usability and competition among AI tools in the space.
