When the clouds lie, Bittensor answers with proof.

The cloud giants dominate artificial intelligence. They set the prices, lock the access, and control the transparency. Developers rent GPU time without ever knowing if the power they pay for is truly what they get.

The result?

Bloated bills, inconsistent performance, and broken trust.

THEREFORE, a network was needed, one capable of proving real GPU performance. BUT, existing decentralized models often rely on subsidies, collateral, or inflationary emissions, making their economies artificial and fragile. THEREFORE, Subnet 27 (SN27) was born: a new generation of decentralized compute network built on Bittensor, founded not on promise, but on proof.

What is SN27?

SN27 is a decentralized compute subnet connecting GPU providers with AI users, transparently and verifiably.

The goal: To create a free market where anyone can offer computing power, but every rented unit must be cryptographically proven to be real and compliant.

GPU providers plug in their cards and execute off-chain compute tasks.

SN27 validators fetch cryptographic proofs from a data availability (DA) layer to verify that computations are real, complete, and delivered on time.

No blind trust, no oversized collateral, everything runs on proof of performance.

Users will pay via Nodexo.ai, a dedicated platform for renting GPUs verified through the PoG v3 protocol.

The result: a “trustless Runpod”, a free, fast, and verified compute network.

The Core: Proof of GPU v3

SN27 relies on an original protocol: Proof of GPU v3 (PoG v3), a system where cryptographic proof becomes the currency of trust.

Here’s how it works:

  • GPU providers receive Anchors, tasks designed to test their actual performance.
  • They execute these tasks off-chain and publish a proof of computation on a DA layer.
  • Validators analyze the proofs, rebuild execution schedules, and compare runtimes to known GPU models.

Two anchor types are used:

  • Light NTT Anchors: lightweight tests for opportunistic or shared GPUs.
  • Heavy GEMM Anchors: intensive matrix multiplications saturating VRAM, reserved for dedicated GPUs.

Every execution is timestamped and anchored to the blockchain every 12 seconds, ensuring no machine can fake or duplicate itself (Sybil protection).

In short: proof becomes reputation. And reputation becomes the foundation of value.

An Economy Built on Revenue, Not Emissions

One of SN27’s boldest aspects is its economic model. While many “decentralized” networks survive on emissions, SN27 aims to move beyond them, fast.

Core principles:

  • Revenue comes from usage fees, not token inflation.
  • GPU providers freely set their own prices based on demand.
  • Payments (in USDC, fiat, or tokens) generate platform fees redistributed to the ecosystem.
  • A portion of revenue goes to buy back SN27 tokens, supporting scarcity and intrinsic value.

This fully realigns incentives: the network wins when real users use it, not when it mints artificial rewards.

It’s a sustainable, measurable, self-balancing model, an economy of compute, not an economy of tokens.

Why It Matters

AI has become an industry of giants, but its dependence on centralized clouds is a systemic weakness. Access to verified, freely priced GPUs opens a brand-new market: verifiable compute.

SN27 might be one of the first networks to prove this market can not only exist, but thrive, without massive subsidies.

Investment Thesis: Decentralized Compute Enters Its Proof Phase

The Nodexo.ai platform, the network’s public gateway, is not yet open to the public. Its official launch is expected in about a month. In other words: the market has not priced it in yet. The product is imminent, but the token is already live.

Today, SN27’s alpha token trades around 0.003 TAO, a historically low level for a compute subnet already operational. If the network captures even a fraction of the growing GPU demand within Bittensor, a 20x–30x revaluation seems realistic mid-term. And unlike many projects, this growth would be driven not by inflationary emissions, but by real, verified revenue.

You’re not betting on a promise. You’re betting on an economic proof, a compute market where every GPU justifies its reward.

Risks

Like any emerging network, SN27 faces uncertainties:

  • Adoption of the cryptographic-proof model (still early).
  • Balancing GPU supply and demand.
  • The scalability and robustness of PoG v3 at large scale.

Yet, its hybrid architecture (off-chain verified, on-chain proven) and revenue-based economy give it a structural advantage over emission-dependent projects.

What’s Next

A full whitepaper is in preparation, it will detail the entire PoG v3 protocol, its verification circuits, and SN27’s roadmap. This will form the network’s technical foundation and mark its entry into the public scaling phase.

In parallel, the Nodexo.ai launch will kick off real market operations: opening GPU onboarding, deploying scoring mechanisms, and integrating automated payments.
