Safello to Launch Europe’s First Physically-Backed TAO ETP

Safello is set to launch Europe’s first physically-backed TAO ETP (“TAO ETP Europe”), bringing regulated exposure to Bittensor’s TAO for both institutional and retail investors across leading European exchanges.

The ETP will be issued in partnership with Deutsche Digital Assets (DDA) and fully collateralized with on-chain TAO held in cold custody. In addition to price exposure, Safello says the structure is designed to support the underlying Bittensor network by allowing for on-chain participation such as staking where applicable. If approved, listings are planned across major European venues, with SIX Swiss Exchange, Euronext Paris and Euronext Amsterdam in scope, and a roadmap to introduce the product to Nasdaq Stockholm under consideration.

Management frames TAO ETP Europe as a milestone for AI-native digital assets: rather than a simple tracker, the vehicle aims to “connect investors to decentralized AI” while maintaining the transparency, custody standards and ticker accessibility of traditional exchange-traded products. DDA will serve as the issuer, while Safello coordinates the product and distribution. Full specifications—including ISIN, fees, creation/redemption mechanics and market makers—are expected at final launch notice.

Why it matters: TAO has emerged as a leading AI-aligned crypto asset thanks to Bittensor’s open, incentive-driven marketplace for machine learning. A physically-backed ETP can broaden institutional access, fit into existing brokerage and retirement accounts, and simplify operational burdens compared with direct wallet management. For many traditional allocators, this structure is the cleanest path to initial exposure.

Investors should still evaluate typical ETP considerations: total expense ratio, collateral custody, secondary-market spreads, and any staking/participation arrangements that could affect yield or tracking. We’ll publish the final term sheet once Safello and DDA confirm the ISIN and free float.
