Meet The Team Behind TAO's Autopilot Project

Swarm, Subnet 124 on Bittensor, is a decentralized AI network on Bittensor that focuses on building an open-source autopilot system for drones. It is a competitive marketplace where different contributors create and test flight plans in simulated environments, aiming to guide drones safely and efficiently to their destinations.

The best plans—those that avoid crashes, use less energy, and complete tasks quickly—earn the highest rewards. This setup encourages ongoing innovation, with the community constantly improving drone navigation through open collaboration and competition.

Swarm began with one developer’s vision: to build the first drone autopilot on Bittensor. In just two months, that idea has grown into a team of miners, engineers, and builders, each bringing unique skills to Subnet 124.

Founder: AndorranAI

A telecom engineer by training, AndorranAI has built a career around AI, natural language processing, and computer vision.

His journey into Bittensor began in 2024 as a miner, contributing to subnets such as Sturdy (SN10), 3D-Gen (SN17), Bitmind (SN34), and ItsAI (SN32). He also helped shape Autoppia (SN36) and later mined Chutes (SN64) while advising Yanez (SN54). With Swarm, he channels this broad subnet experience into pioneering decentralized drone intelligence.

Drone & 3D Specialist: LittleTower

Initially a software developer, LittleTower shifted focus toward drones and 3D printing — exploring how both fields intersect. He began mining alongside AndorranAI in late 2024 and officially joined Swarm in 2025, bringing deep technical curiosity to the hardware side of the project.

Subnet Lead Developer:  AliSaaf

An electromechanical engineer with a passion for coding, AliSaaf discovered Bittensor through a simple question to ChatGPT: “how to make money coding?” That curiosity led him to TAOTemplar’s videos and eventually to mining subnets like Sturdy (SN10), Ridges (SN62), and Swarm.

When Swarm posted for a developer on Discord, he applied — today, he leads subnet development.

Marketing & Communications: Simioape

With a foundation in cybersecurity and privacy, Simioape entered the blockchain space early, validating and mining on the Nakamoto chain as far back as 2022.

His experience in onboarding, community engagement, and project building naturally evolved into a communications role. At Swarm, he helps bridge the technical mission with the broader Bittensor ecosystem.

A Shared Mission

The Swarm team is diverse but united by one goal:

a. Build the first drone autopilot powered by models trained on Bittensor
b. Combine decentralized AI with real-world robotics
c. Showcase how community-driven subnet innovation can extend beyond the digital realm

Conclusion

From a single developer to a multi-disciplinary team, Swarm reflects the collaborative potential of Bittensor. Subnet 124 isn’t just about drones — it’s about proving that decentralized AI can power physical systems in the real world.
