Targon, Bittensor subnet 4, focused on decentralized confidential computing, has inked a strategic alliance with Intel to advance secure AI infrastructure.
Developed by Manifold Labs, Targon operates as a permissionless AI cloud platform on the Bittensor network, enabling users to rent secure GPUs for training, deploying, and inferring AI models while maintaining data privacy through hardware protections like Intel’s Trusted Domain Extensions (TDX) and AMD’s Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV).
The subnet, which went live earlier this year, incentivizes miners to provide verifiable, confidential compute resources in a marketplace model, rewarding contributions with Bittensor’s native TAO token.
The partnership, revealed live during OpenTensor Foundation’s Novelty Search event on Oct. 9, centers on co-engineering next-generation TDX features and optimizations. It grants Targon early access to Intel’s silicon roadmap for a competitive edge and includes joint marketing efforts targeting Fortune 500 enterprises globally.
The announcement underscores Bittensor’s rapid ecosystem growth, with subnets like Targon exemplifying Reed’s Law—where network utility scales exponentially through specialized subgroups.
