BitKoop Moves to Ease Validator Concerns Over Liability & Costs

In recent discussions with validators, BitKoop (Bittensor subnet 16) addressed a couple of pressing issues that could affect participation in its validation process. The concerns raised center on liability and infrastructure costs, two factors that may discourage validators from fully engaging in the network.

Liability – Some validators are hesitant to run the script due to potential exposure to website terms-of-service violations, even though the process does not involve data scraping but merely checks whether codes are functional.

Proxies & Costs – The need for proxies introduces additional infrastructure costs and monthly expenses, which many validators consider a burden.

What’s next?

BitKoop’s development team is already working on solutions to ensure validation can be performed safely, reliably, and cost-effectively, without exposing validators to undue risk.

Timeline

The fixes are expected to roll out within the next few days.

Community Input

To accelerate progress, BitKoop is inviting validators and community members to share recommendations—particularly on methods to simplify validation, mitigate liability, and reduce infra costs.
