TPN (SN65) announced TPN005, its first production-ready optimized AI model. The model is approximately 40% smaller than the original version, making it more efficient to run while preserving its ability to process long conversations and documents.

TPN005 was developed from Ministral-3-8B, an existing AI model. Through its fifth competition, TPN challenged miners to reduce the model’s size without losing too much of its intelligence or capabilities. The resulting model also retained its original 32,000-token context window, meaning it can still handle large amounts of information at once.

The competition was the first to use Fluid Bench, TPN’s upgraded testing system. Fluid Bench evaluates how well smaller AI models retain their knowledge and abilities using questions that participants cannot easily predict or memorize. This helps ensure that winning models are genuinely capable and have not simply been trained to pass familiar tests.
The release marks an important milestone for TPN (SN65) as it moves from testing model optimization techniques to producing models ready for practical use. The team plans to release further improvements and is developing a consumer-facing product that could allow people to benefit directly from AI models built through the subnet.

TPN (SN65) has also promised a detailed report showing the full results of Competition 5, while the winning models are already listed on its public dashboard. With TPN005, the subnet is demonstrating how decentralized competition can help make powerful AI models smaller, more accessible, and less demanding to run.
